OUR CURRICULUM VISION STATEMENT
At St Joseph’s we have designed our curriculum with our mission statement at the heart:
Following in Jesus’ footsteps
Recognising the Holy Spirit in ourselves and others
Nurturing our God given gifts
We are a diverse, multicultural community with a strong Catholic ethos, where the teaching of the Gospels are at the centre of all we do. Our strong welcoming ethos and sense of belonging ensures that all children make progress with our dedication to encourage them to be the best that they can be, both within our St Joseph’s family and in their future lives. Through our curriculum, we strive to develop the skills, knowledge and learning attitudes of our pupils so that they may become the best that they can be.
Our aims:
- To provide an inspiring and well rounded Catholic education for all our children, based on the teachings of Jesus Christ and his church.
- For our children to respect and serve others by living out Catholic Social Teaching
- To provide a broad and balanced curriculum, reflecting our diverse and inclusive school, where our children can see themselves, following the example of Christ enabling them to develop respect for all members of our St Joseph’s family
- To offer our children new and exciting experiences, designed to enable pupils to develop their interpersonal skills, creativity and independence.
- For children to be excited by their learning, being active learners with an enthusiasm to explore
- For our children to become citizens of the 21st century, leading happy and fulfilled lives and becoming life - long learners, developing skills of making decisions, self -evaluating and questioning
- To support the emotional and spiritual needs of our children so that they develop strength of character, challenging our children to reach their goals, to be resilient and confident about their learning and celebrating success
- For our children to know they are valued and loved by God
