Many thanks for all your messages of support in what has been a challenging week for all. We continue to be here for you throughout this national lockdown and will help you in any way that we can, so please do ask us if there are any queries please either contact the class teacher through the home learning platform or by email to office@stjosephs.w-berks.sch.uk
I hope the children have enjoyed the range of remote learning resources provided by the teachers this week. You should have received information detailing how remote learning will work and continue to develop in each Key Stage during this time. A copy of those letters can be found below.
We understand how remote learning at home can be challenging for a variety of reasons and that all family circumstances are different, meaning the children will be accessing the work at different times of the day. Please do not worry- the staff are available between 9am and 3pm daily to support you with any questions and all resources and pre- recorded videos can be accessed at any time. Work can still be submitted after these times and staff will respond the following day. If you have any difficulties accessing the provision, or you need paper copies of any resources, please let us know.
Well - being and safety of you all remains the priority. The class teachers will be calling you on a weekly basis to find out how you all are and what support you need from us. We will continue to keep you updated in our remote learning provision, including optional opportunities for the children and staff in each class to virtually “meet” together.
Please take care and keep safe, we miss seeing you all.
School Lunches
During this period of lockdown, school lunches will still be provided by our catering company ISS but will not follow the normal menu. The online ordering system has also been removed for this period instead the menu will be emailed weekly and published on this page.

Key Worker Provision
Following the Prime Minister’s announcement on 4 January 2021, only children of critical workers and vulnerable children and young people should attend school or college. All other pupils and students will receive remote education.

VIRTUAL ZOOM SESSIONS
As part of our remote learning provision, we will be introducing some virtual check in and story time sessions for those children learning at home. These sessions will take place on Zoom.
These “live” sessions will be entirely optional, but will be a lovely opportunity for the children to “see” each other and talk to the teacher. Please see our safety guidelines and protocol for these sessions below. If you are happy for your child to participate please ensure you have completed the form that was emailed on 14th January to confirm consent.
We are aiming to have fun with this new technology so that we can engage virtually in the social interaction that everyone is missing. We ask you to be patient with us with as we develop this new part of our remote learning. In order for us to safely address any issues with this technology, we will be rolling it out class by class so please bear with us.
