Faith in Action

Mini Vinnies have turned concern into action by:
- making cards for those who may be lonely, including those in our local parishes
- visiting local care homes to sing and share stories with residents
- creating arts and crafts to share with others
- running food collections for a local food bank and homelessness charity
- supporting other children in our school or parish
- fundraising for the SVP and other charities - including Mary's Meals and CAFOD
- fundraising for a school in India
- Supporting a school in Urenga, Kenya by collecting stationery items
- baking for others
- campaigning
Our Mini Vinnies Team
Our Mini Vinnies
Mini Vinnies follow in the footsteps of Christ and St Vincent de Paul.
The Mini Vinnies are the youngest members of the St Vincent de Paul Society (SVP), an international Christian voluntary organisation dedicated to tackling poverty in all its forms by providing practical assistance to people in need.
The Mini Vinnies get together in primary schools and parishes across England and Wales to live out their mission of see, think, do, supporting their school community and beyond alongside the SVP. Most Mini Vinnies are between the ages of seven and eleven, but even children as young as five are living out the mission too.
Our Mini Vinnies at St Joseph's are children from Year 4, Year 5 and Year 6. They lead others in school in turning our faith and concern into action.
Lent Appeal
Mini Vinnies Lent Charity Appeal – Helping Support Children in Urenga, Kenya
Thank you very much for all your generous donations to our Lent Appeal. We collected so many pens, pencils and notebooks to support children in Urenga – a village in Kenya. We have managed to fill four large boxes!
Our donations will be taken to Kenya and given to the children in Urenga after Easter.
Thank you!

Harvest Appeal 2026
This Harvest, the Mini Vinnies have inspired others in school to donate grocery items to help support those in our local community. We are currently collecting items to share between West Berkshire Foodbank and Loose Ends.
At our Harvest Mass next week, Father Michael will bless our donations before they are distributed to those in need.
