Feast Day: 3rd November
''Everything, even weeding or scraping vegetables and looking after the sick could be a prayer if offered to God''
Class Teacher – Miss Fulker
Teaching Assistants – Mrs Lavisher, Mrs Rumble
Welcome to Year 1!
We do a lot of learning through play in this class. We really enjoy exploring different things and discovering things for ourselves. Here are a few photos of what we have been getting up to in the first few weeks of the term.
We learn about numbers and counting.
We have been measuring different things.
We are very creative! We like to write and make different things.
We love reading books! These children are reading The Bible and a prayer book.
We love being active!
How can you help?
• Listen to them reading daily, ask them about the story and characters
• Practise counting, Maths games
• Practise their spellings with them
• Talk to them about what they have learnt
• Help them to become more independent by encouraging them to stand in the line on their own before school and say good bye to them there, in the playground
• Try to ensure they get a good night’s sleep
